Veterans day, once called Armistice Day, is a day where we celebrate all Veterans, living or dead, who had served this country, and it gives thanks to those who served their country honorably or during war. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower changed the name from Armistice Day to Veterans Day. Veterans Day occurs every year on November 11th in the United States, the same day that the armistice was put forth which ended World War 1. Veterans Day is celebrated all over the world and is not the same as Memorial Day. Memorial Day is a day to celebrate all the people who died in any war we fought in while Veterans day celebrates those who were involved in any war and are living or dead.

Did you know only about nine percent of Veterans are women?
